Monsoon Motorcycle Maintenance: Keeping Your Bike Road-Ready

Monsoon season is hard on motorcycles in ways that aren't always obvious until months later — corrosion, water-contaminated fuel, and worn brake pads from constant wet braking all compound quietly.

  • Check chain lubrication weekly; monsoon riding washes it off faster than usual
  • Inspect brake pads more frequently — wet braking accelerates wear
  • Avoid deep waterlogged roads where possible; water can enter the air intake or electrical connectors
  • Apply anti-rust spray to exposed metal fittings after every long ride in the rain

None of this requires a mechanic — a twenty-minute check after a wet ride is usually enough to avoid the more expensive fixes that show up once the season ends.
